IDC'S IT SECURITY CONFERENCE - BELGIUM
Tuesday 27 September 2011, Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport
In 2011, the trend of Consumerization of IT will hit the security market – more and more companies will create and implement company policies on which applications employees can download and what kind of data to distribute via their network and devices. The trend of moving from software to appliances will be strong. Furthermore, we will see considerable movement from security software to SaaS, especially for messaging and Web security. As for hardware appliances, we are seeing early indication of movement from hardware appliances to virtualized platforms and Cloud Computing. These two areas are expected to have significant acceleration at the enterprise level, especially in companies where server consolidation is already a major initiative.
The IT industry will see many changes as cloud security moves toward providing actual solutions. This will impact the Identity and access management (IAM) market as customers continue to look to decrease expenses and increase security to meet compliance demands. Cloud services are emerging as a viable option. Customers in all market segments, including banking, financial, insurance, higher education, healthcare, government, and manufacturing, will be looking to identity-driven cloud models to provide more streamlined business processes, greater business agility, increased security and stronger access management.
IAM is one of the areas predicted to grow with a significant percentage as the need to meet compliance regulation is imperative for all businesses. Furthermore, the need for secure, scalable identity-driven cloud models for both private and public cloud deployments will drive security investments significantly in 2011 and onward.
IDC IT Security conferences 2011 will offer attendees quality sessions with security experts and practical advice on how to cope in today´s threat landscape – maintaining and developing their security strategy and solutions. We will look at the current threats and vulnerabilities, as well as look into SaaS, Cloud, IAM and Hybrid Security as some of the key security areas faced by organizations today.
